Explaining DMCC Gratuity Calculator Dubai
The DMCC gratuity calculation follows a structured formula for computing EOSB.
It ensures fair payouts by applying clear legal standards. The UAE gratuity calculator provides an approximate gratuity for full-time employees.
Below is a practical guide for both full-time and part-time employees.
Calculation of Gratuity for Full-Time Employees
According to DMCC rules, EOSB is calculated based on basic salary and length of service.
The calculation occurs in two phases: For the first 5 years, employees receive 21 days’ basic pay per year. For any service beyond 5 years, they receive 30 days’ basic pay per year.
Example:
If an employee earns AED 14,000 monthly and has worked for 7 years and 3 months, here’s how it’s calculated:
- First 5 years:
21 days’ pay per year =
(14,000 ÷ 30) × 21 × 5 = AED 49,000 - Next 2 years:
30 days’ pay per year =
(14,000 ÷ 30) × 30 × 2 = AED 28,000 - 3 additional months (prorated):
(14,000 ÷ 30) × 30 × 0.25 = AED 3,500
Total gratuity = AED 49,000 + AED 28,000 + AED 3,500 = AED 80,500
Gratuity is capped at two years’ salary, and unpaid leave is not included in the service period.
Gratuity for Part-Time Employees
Part-time EOSB is first calculated as if the worker were full-time, then adjusted based on hours worked.
Example:
- Basic salary: AED 9,000
- Service period: 4 years.
- Full-time annual hours: 10,400
- Actual annual hours worked: 6,760
- Work ratio = 65%
- Full-time gratuity:
(9,000 ÷ 30) × 21 × 4 = AED 25,200 - Prorated for part-time:
AED 25,200 × 0.65 = AED 16,380
So, the employee receives AED 16,380 as gratuity.
